Legion M, the world's first fan owned entertainment company approached us with a crunch time project to redesign their innovative Film Scout application before the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Along with the mobile application, we were tasked with designing and developing their Shopify store so that their many fan investors could have access to exclusive merch.
Film Scout is a native mobile application to gather viewers' opinions on the 100+ films shown during the week long world famous Sundance Film Festival. An MVP version of the application was revealed at the 2019 Sundance festival and was a massive success. For this year's Sundance the goal was to completely rebuild the app giving it the polished look & feel it deserves.
We started with a quick rebrand, working from the existing logo to determine typography and colors. Once the foundation was set, we got to work designing a sleek interface for every step of the user journey. At the 2020 festival, the app continued it successes, seeing an increase in users and garnering attention from publications like Variety and Forbes.

Each film detail page offered a film overview including director and principal cast followed by a series of questions about the film.
User Interface Kit
A huge source of income for Legion M is their exclusive merchandise. We needed to not only update the design of their mobile application Film Scout but also make sure that design meshed well with their eCommerce presence. Legion M needed this site up and running fast so we leaned on an existing Shopify theme as a framework before jumping into custom design and development.
Legion M has an extensive product catalogue so ease of navigation was key. We utilized more modules focused on collections to overcome the large inventory and allow users to easily determine how to access their desired product.
